Transparent, Simple Pricing

Buy directly from Midwest ranchers — high quality, complete transparency, and better value.

How Our Pricing Works

Step 1: Match Fee

Paid to Heartland Beef Connection

When you’re ready to move forward, you’ll pay a one-time $100 Match Fee

This covers:

  • Finding the right rancher based on your preferences

  • Coordinating introductions

  • Guidance on the process

Add-on Services:

  • Coordinating shared orders - $25

  • Priority matching for special requests

Note: All fees go directly to supporting the matchmaking process — no markup on the beef itself.

Step 2: Payment to Rancher

Paid to the Rancher Directly

You’ll pay your rancher directly for your beef share. Prices vary by ranch and finishing style, but typically:

  • Quarter Beef: ~$700–$1,000

  • Half Beef: ~$1,200–$1,800

  • Whole Beef: ~$2,200–$3,000

Exact total depends on final hanging weight and selected rancher.

Step 3: Meat Processing Fee

Paid to the Processor or Butcher Directly

Your local processor will charge separately for cutting, wrapping, and freezing. Most charge about $1.00–$1.25 per pound (hanging weight).

You’ll coordinate pickup or delivery directly with the processor.

Once you’ve completed these three steps, your total cost depends on your chosen share size and rancher’s rates. Here’s an example of how pricing typically breaks down:

Quarter Beef

100-125 lbs packaged

Match: $100 | Rancher: $900 | Processing: $140

Total: $1,140 (~$9.10–$11.40/lb)

Half Beef

100-125 lbs packaged

Match: $100 | Rancher: $1,600 | Processing: $250

Total: $1,950 (~$7.80–$9.75/lb)

Whole Beef

100-125 lbs packaged

Match: $100 | Rancher: $2,900 | Processing: $475

Total: $3,475(~$6.95–$8.70/lb)
